Kioea (kēōˈāə or key-o-e-ah)) is an instrumental band based in Maine. Founded in 2019 by guitarist Carand Burnet (care-and-burn-it), Kioea blends surf rock, psychedelic music, and global influences to craft expansive instrumentals. Kioea’s EP and album Stand Tall, have been featured as “New & Notable” releases by Bandcamp. Kioea has performed at 3S Artspace, The Music Hall, The Thing in the Spring Festival, WMUR’s Summer Concert Series, and elsewhere.
“Dazzling guitar work forms the centerpiece of the new EP from Kioea, featuring exploratory songs that hold a tight grip.”
“The debut LP from Kioea is dreamy psychedelic surf music that calls back to the ’60s while feeling remarkably contemporary.”
